Generally Green packaging has five connotation:

Firstly, implementation of packaging reduction (Reduce).Based on protection,convenience and sale purpose , the amount of packing should be at minimum.

Secondly, the packaging should be easy to re-use (Reuse), or easy to Recycle (Recycle). Through the measures to produce renewable products, incinerate to use geothermal energy, composting to improve soil quality ,packaging can achieve re-use objective.

Thirdly, the degradation of packaging waste can be corrupt (Degradable). Only Its final form is not permanent refuse, packaging can degradable to improve soil quality. 3R1D "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Degradable" are recognized in today's world as the development principle of green packaging.

Fourthly, packaging materials should be non-toxic on human body and biology. Packaging materials should not contain toxic elements, bacteria, heavy metals or the contained rate should be controlled below.

Fifthly, the packaging products from acquisition of raw materials, materials processing, manufacturing, product use, waste reclaim untill the end of lives dealing process should not creat any pollution on human being or environment.
